The Civitas Metropolitano Stadium, formerly known as the Metropolitano Stadium, stands as the home ground of Atletico Madrid, boasting a capacity of 68,465 spectators. Located in the Rosas neighbourhood within San Blas-Canillejas, the stadium has an interesting history. Initially constructed as part of the city's bid to host the World Athletic Championships in 1997, it first opened its doors in 1994. Unfortunately, following Madrid's unsuccessful bid for the 2016 Olympics, the stadium closed in 2004.

In 2013, ownership of the stadium transitioned to Atletico Madrid. Subsequently, the venue underwent significant renovations, culminating in its reopening in 2017, marked by a match between Atletico Madrid and Malaga. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, the stadium reverberates with passionate support from the home team's fans. In 2019, it also had the honour of hosting the Champions League Final, adding to its illustrious history of hosting significant football events.
