Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Germany

Signal Iduna Park, the home of Borussia Dortmund, boasts an impressive capacity of over 81,000 spectators. Initially opened in 1974, the stadium was designed to host matches during the 1974 World Cup. Formerly known as Westfalenstadion, it underwent a name change in 2005.

Notably, the stadium broke away from the conventional bowl-shaped design prevalent at the time, boasting a distinctive rectangular shape with four separate stands. This innovative layout served as a model for modern stadiums, influencing designs like Glasgow Rangers FC’s Ibrox Stadium. During the 1974 World Cup, Signal Iduna Park hosted three first-round matches and a second-round group match between Brazil and Holland.

Located in the city's southern area, close to the conference centre, the stadium is conveniently situated just 3km away from the central rail station. It is easily accessible by car via the B54 or B1 routes.
