Deportivo Alaves were founded in 1921. They are based in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country. Occasionally nicknamed “Babazorros” and “El Glorioso”, they are ranked as the third most successful club in the Basque region, beaten only by Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. One of the club’s most iconic moments came in 2001 when they made their debut in the Europa League, closely losing 5-4 to Liverpool.

They play their games at Mendizorrotza Stadium, which has been their home since the 1920s. It has a capacity of close to 20,000 spectators, giving fans an engaging match day experience close to the pitch.
